CHAPTER 6: ADAM AND EVE: LEAVING...TOGETHER

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh (emphasis mine) Genesis 2:24 (KJV). Through the marriage of Adam and Eve, God illustrates the root cause of difficulties in marriage: the failure to leave external influence and be joined together by God. Regardless of how many years a couple has been married, until they learn to leave, they can not cleave (be joined).
